Virginia and Gordon Scharf | Dallas Wedding Coordinator

When Dianne, the mother of the bride, introduced me to her daughter for the first time, Virginia (who I had never met) gave me a huge hug and said, “Yes I know Shelbi! We are going to be great friends!” That is Virginia in a nutshell…everyone she meets becomes her instant friend.

I had the pleasure of helping coordinate both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. I can’t tell you that I have ever attended a rehearsal dinner with better speeches, mostly driven from the relationships Gordon and Virginia have with their friends and family. Not to mention that for her wedding day “guest book”, Virginia wrote a personalized note to every single guest that attended her wedding. It doesn’t get sweeter than that.

Gordon and Virginia met (and currently live) in China. As a result, much of their wedding was inspired by Asian traditions. Their cake was a replica of a typical Chinese house and to cut it they opted for a samurai sword over the typical cake knife and server. To top it all off, at the end of the night Dianne surprised her daughter and new son-in-law with a performance by a traditional lion dance troupe! Be sure to check out the videoby Candlelight Films at the end of the post!
