Please exuse my lack of posts in the past month. I have been a very bad blogger but would it help if I told you I have had a few projects up my sleeve and this is one of them?!
Last week I designed and decorated PJ’s “Swag 16” birthday party which took place at sunset on Just for Fun’s Lone Star Lady cruise boat! PJ’s mom, Amanda, wanted to go all out for her oldest son’s milestone birthday so we picked a manly color scheme and did our best to incorporate it in as many ways as possible with only half an hour to decorate prior!
Helium balloons adorned the ceiling of the lower deck party room along with blue and orange streamers while goldfish* lingered amidst blue rocks as the centerpieces of the tables. Fuddruckers catered the event with their trademark burgers and the chocolate and gold cake constructed by Frosted Art consisted of s’mores, double chocolate and Kaluha layers. Don’t tell PJ, but his cake might have been designed after Miley’s Cyrus’ very own 16th birthday cake!
Special thanks to Three for these beautiful photos of the event…
Happy Swag 16 PJ!!!
***NO goldfish were harmed in the making of this party!***
Happy 4th of July! Today I want to share with you a 4th of July themed party we attended Friday night to celebrate the end of our good friend Chris’ first year of residency! His lovely wife, Amanda, handmade the decor and desserts all by herself! From hanging firecrackers and glowing paper lanterns to handmade bunting and pinwheels, you’ll want to take notes on this DIY party!
The sign over the window stands for “Peace out Post Graduate Year 1!”
Caramel and butter popcorn, coconut and vanilla cupcakes and red, white and blue berries!
Sweet peach tea with real Texas peaches…yum!
It says “Thanks 4th Coming!” Get it?!
Thank you for sharing your patriotic DIY ideas Amanda!
May we all take a moment to today to remember how blessed we are to live in a country that respects our freedom. We often take for granted the luxuries this country provides and today is our reminder to give thanks and celebrate. May you all have the opportunity today to enjoy a parade, homemade ice cream, fireworks (and perhaps a little Lee Greenwood). Happy birthday America!!!
This photo shoot makes me want to sing “I’m proud to be an American!” at the top of my lungs. I actually did sing it at the top of my lungs in my head while I was creating this post. I couldn’t help myself. I love me some Lee Greenwood. This photo shoot is great inspiration for a patriotic wedding, a military wedding or just to celebrate America on the 4th of July! The milkshake and coke float table looks incredibly enticing and I love the way they individually scooped the ice cream to make assembly much easier. Good plan.
It’s a passport sign in book…very clever!
The red and white latte bowls can be found at Anthropologie
. They help add a perfect blend of reds, whites and blues on the table.
Pure patriotic bliss.
