Today is supposed to be a day Bloggers Day of Silence to raise money for relief in Japan and I want to respect that but first I want to encourage you to make a donation of ANY kind to either the American Red Cross or ShelterBox. I am sure you are familiar with the American Red Cross but here is a description of how ShelterBox helps:

ShelterBox provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. A whole box costs $1,000 (US), so we’re hoping to raise enough to send 5 boxes.

Every little bit helps. I know we hear that all the time but it is SO true. If 1,000 people give $1 each…that’s a ShelterBox! Please spend the time you would be spending reading blogs today to donate. Thank you!

Also, and even better, please be praying for the citizens of Japan and the country as a whole.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride…The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7
